Oak Grove Staff
Sapling's Lead Teacher:
My name is Brianna but you can call me Miss Bri! I am originally from Wichita, KS. I currently live in Junction City with my amazing boyfriend and our three little fur babies! I started working at the Barton Community College Child Development Center in 2019. In the year and a half that I worked there, I gained so much knowledge about what it takes to be a preschool teacher. At Barton, I was in the show choir. (I love to sing and dance) I was the section leader for altos and the dance captain/choreographer. Now that I have graduated with my Associate's, I am attending K-State to get a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a minor in special education. My heart has always gravitated towards working with children! In my first month of working at Oak Grove, I learned so much and really enjoy having a parent run preschool! In my free time you can find me studying for classes, cooking, at a Royals baseball game, or simply hanging out with my fur babies and boyfriend!
Acorn's Lead Teacher:
Hi, my name is Kayla and I am a lead teacher in the Acorns room at Oak Grove. I am a current graduate student at Kansas State University in the School Counseling Program! I got my Bachelors of Science from K-State, with a heavy focus on Social Work. I have lived around the Manhattan area my whole life, and I currently have a boyfriend of five years, and our three fur babies. My hobbies include watching K-State football, playing with my Australian Shepherd, Dresden, and spending time with my loved ones. Working with children is a lifelong passion of mine, and I look forward to working with the students at Oak Grove!
Sapling's Assistant Teacher:
My name is Peyton Jaukkuri but you can call me Ms. Peyton! I will be Miss Bri’s assistant for the Saplings class! I just moved here from Blue Mound, IL. I recently got married and my husband is in the Army here at Fort Riley. In my free time I like to play with my mini goldendoodle Loki, travel, go on walks, watch softball, and cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs. I am currently studying to be a Radiologist Tech in the future. I have always loved being around kids! I loved when I got to babysit and play with my little cousins. I am beyond excited with the fact that I get to be around kids and help them grow and learn!
Acorns Assistant Teacher:
My name is Ms. Everly and I am the assistant teacher in the Acorns classroom. I have worked in Early Childhood Education for almost two years now and I love it! I enjoy the challenge of every day being new and different and I learn as much from the students and they learn from me. In my free time I like to spend time with friends and family, play with my dog Finley, and go to the lake as much as I can. I am very excited to be at Oak Grove and spend time with these precious children!
Assistant in Floating Clasrooms:
Hello! My name is Yovanka but I also go by Miss Yovo. I am currently a fourth year student at K-State where I will graduate with my Master's degree in Architecture. Working with kids is something that makes me happy and is also something I am passionate about. I speak fluent Spanish and love being creative so I enjoy getting to share that with the kids.
Acorn's Teachers Aide:
Hello! My name is Kacie Anderson and I work mostly with the acorns as a teacher’s aid! My husband is in the army and we recently moved here from San Antonio, TX, but I am originally from Martinsburg, WV. In my free time I like to take my fur babies, Dani, Freyja, and Ares, on walks. I love kayaking, reading, video games, hiking, and traveling! I’m so happy to be part of the Oak Grove team and enjoy every minute with the kids!
Hello! I’m so excited to start my new adventure in the kitchen! Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a momma, military spouse, and former small business owner. We just moved to the area after living in Germany for over 3 wonderful years. I owned a small bakery while we lived abroad, and had the time of my life traveling and trying new foods. Some of my passions and hobbies include cooking, collecting wooden toys from all over Europe, and raising my soon to be 16 year old and 3 year old. I have worked in Early Child Care and Education since my oldest was an Infant. We can say I spent so much time stopping by the center to check on her, that I was offered a position on the parent board before taking a leap into teaching. I have worked at some pretty amazing accredited centers along my journey, and gained a lot of valuable skills as both a parent and a teacher. With that said, I look forward to getting to know all of you!
